You will spend the first half of the day exploring the beautifully preserved 2nd century ruins of the once thriving Ancient Ostia. This marvelously preserved site presents Roman life at the time of the Caesars. You will spend the duration of your morning here, sightseeing on foot before you head off to lunch and before getting to Cerveteri, where one of the best preserved Etruscan tombs still remaining in the world, before you are returned back to your ship

Our English speaking driver will be at the gang way of your ship or pick up location where we will proceed towards the beautiful countryside of the Chianti region, and then on what they call the "Wine Road", between vineyards and olive trees. We'll reach Greve in Chianti, the small village, named after the nearby river, it expanded very much during the 14th & 15th centuries.

We'll see Piazza Matteotti with its porticoes, the church of Santa Croce, the San Francesco convent and a series of tiny, shops and wine-cellars. One of the most famous is the butcher shop Falorni, which has been located in this piazza for 500 years. You can have samples of many of their locally produced products. Many famous people from Hollywood order beef, salami, and ham here. In Greve there is also the wine cellar called "Le Cantine" where you will be able to taste more than 100 different wines, olive oils, vin santo and grappa, all produced in the Chianti area. It's really a showcase for the Tuscany region's wines and products.

After Greve, we depart for the magnificent Castle of Verrazzano, found on top of a gorgeous hill between Florence and Siena in the heart of the Chianti Classic wine production area. Together with the world famous wines, all the various products of the farm can be tasted, including olive oil, salted meats, wild boar sausage and the area's other typical specialities.

You will be greeted at the Port of Livorno, scenic route in the Tuscan countryside, before arriving at the Renaissance city of Florence. You will explore the Church of Santa Croce, the Duomo and Baptistery, the Ponte Vecchio, the Pitti Palace, and the Piazza of Michelangelo. You may choose to have your lunch here and You will spend the duration of your day sightseeing throughout this native land of Michelangelo, before you are returned to the Port of Livorno at the end of the day.

You will be greeted at the Port of Naples before making your way to the archaeological site of Pompeii, the ancient city whose ruins were preserved by the volcanic eruption that devastated it in 79AD. Here you will spend your morning, before continuing on to the picturesque coastal village of Sorrento for some sightseeing and lunch.

The tour continues back to Naples to see some of the highlights of this colorful city, passing by the famous square Plebiscito, the Royal Palace, the picturesque gallery of Umberto and the maschio Angioino Castle. The day concludes with a visit to one the most important archaeological museums in Europe with artworks, private collections and the main artifacts founding during the excavation of Pompeii and Herculaneum.
